The wait is over. Meet the new one-stop business portal: business.ct.gov. A new way to help small businesses in Connecticut grow and thrive.
Business.ct.gov is Connecticut’s new one-stop business portal. The portal provides resources for Connecticut businesses while creating a hub of partnership for all business owners, large and small. The tool, designed for current and potential business owners, streamlines the process for planning, starting, and operating a business by hosting everything in one place.
What’s new?
The new site will help Connecticut business owners easily access powerful resources for starting and operating a business:
- New business registration
- Access to licensing and permitting
- Updated state guidance
- Business planning
- Resources for financial assistance
- COVID-19 recovery assistance
With the website’s all-new business checklist wizard, potential business owners can now cut through the confusion and red tape of starting a business. The site can guide entrepreneurs through the business start-up process and provides a tailored checklist of forms, licenses, and guidance useful to open your doors.
Business owners can also access COVID-19 business recovery, employer support, and financial aid related resources to address immediate needs related to the pandemic.Share with your networks

Today the IRS will begin highlighting its ongoing effort to inform small business owners and self-employed individuals of tax law changes that will be affecting them.
