A Certificate of Origin (CO) is an essential international trade document that verifies the country in which a product was manufactured. This document is often required by customs authorities in the importing country to determine duty rates, trade statistics, and compliance with trade agreements.

Businesses need a Certificate of Origin when exporting goods to countries that require proof of origin for customs clearance or to benefit from reduced tariffs under trade agreements. Whether you're shipping machinery, textiles, food products, or manufactured goods, a CO ensures smoother transactions, avoids delays at borders, and supports compliance with international regulations.

At the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, we provide authentication services for Certificates of Origin to help facilitate smooth international shipments. Our service includes the application of an official embossed seal, signature, and stamp on original documents, giving your paperwork the validation it needs for international customs processing.

Service Details:

  • Availability: By appointment only, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

  • Scheduling: Call us at 860-521-2300 or email info@whchamber.com to book your appointment.

  • Walk-ins: We will do our best to accommodate walk-ins; however, our office hours may vary, and we cannot guarantee that someone will be available on-site without an appointment.

Important Notes:

  • Document Responsibility: It is your responsibility to verify the documentation requirements for the destination country of your shipment, as rules and regulations vary by country.

  • Scope of Service: The West Hartford Chamber provides authentication of Certificates of Origin only. We do not offer notary services.

Fees:

  • Free for Chamber Members

  • $50 per stamp for Non-Members
