Welcome to the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee. Our mission is to drive business growth, community investment, and innovation by connecting entrepreneurs, developers, and municipal leaders. Together, we ensure West Hartford continues to thrive as one of Connecticut’s most vibrant and business-friendly communities.
What the Economic Development Committee Does
The Committee serves as a bridge between the business community and local government.
We meet monthly to review new and expanding businesses, upcoming development projects, provide feedback on policy proposals, and offer direct support to businesses. By collaborating with chamber members, the Town of West Hartford, and strategic partners, we foster sustainable growth that benefits both companies and residents.
The Committee meets on the 1st Thursday of the month, from 8am-9am via Zoom. Meeting are open to all West Hartford Chamber members. If you would like to attend a meeting, email Chris Conway at cconway@whchamber.com
Stakeholder Engagement
We bring together business leaders, property owners, and developers with elected officials and town staff to share insights and collaborate on new initiatives.
The Economic Development Committee participates in walking tours with representatives from all levels of government as well as business support organizations.

Our committee evaluates zoning, permitting, and economic incentive proposals, ensuring that business perspectives are part of the decision-making process.

Connecticut Business Day
In partnership with CBIA (Connecticut Business & Industry Association), we take part in Connecticut Business Day at the Capitol. This event gives local businesses the chance to advocate directly with lawmakers and influence statewide economic policy.
