Bishops Corner, in northern West Hartford, features a variety of businesses on its four sprawling corners. There are specialty markets and grocery stores, restaurants, medical services, automobile services and large anchor stores.  Route 44 travels through Bishops Corner and connects the Farmington Valley with Hartford. Bishops Corner is undergoing a major redesign to make it even more attractive and user-friendly.

Corbins Corner is located on New Britain Avenue. The shopping center along this wide thoroughfare includes more than 20 stores, including coffee shops, food markets, department and electronics stores. Corbins Corner has easy access to Interstate 84 and Route 9.

Elmwood Center runs along New Britain Avenue in the southern part of town. A variety of businesses are interspersed throughout the area including specialty shops, restaurants, florists, cleaners, pharmacies and a health club.

Home Design District, located in the New Park Avenue area of West Hartford, offers everything today’s busy homeowner needs to build, renovate, decorate, or furnish a home. Established in December 2005, the Home Design District represents more than 15 independent member businesses, which are located within one square mile of one another.

Park Road is a diverse shopping area with ethnic markets, restaurants, hair salons, clothing and tailoring shops, paint stores, garden centers, jewelry stores and printing services.  The Park Road Association, which works closely with its neighbors in Hartford, hosts numerous events throughout the year, including the annual Park Road Parade on the first Saturday in October.

Westfarms is one of central Connecticut’s premiere shopping destinations and features more than 160 fine shops, services and restaurants. The 1.3 million square-foot shopping center straddles West Hartford and Farmington.  A deck provides covered parking for 1,200 cars and there is plenty of surface parking. Approximately 40% of Westfarms’ stores are unique to the market. Westfarms has four main entrances that open every morning at 7:00 a.m. to host its Mall Walkers Club, a free informal walking program for all ages that takes advantage of Westfarms’ safe, climate-controlled area. 

The Center & The Square is a traditional New England town center with more than 200 businesses including boutiques, specialty shops, banks, law offices, healthcare services, and numerous food establishments, many of which feature outdoor dining.   Blue Back Square is a mixed use development which features a myriad of shopping and dining choices, an art cinema, luxury condominiums, a surgi-center and fitness center.
