CT River Community Bank is a relatively young financial institution, founded in 2002.  Tell us how this all began.

CT River Community Bank was founded by a group of local business men and women who saw a need for an institution that focused on customer service and care, in addition to fundamental banking.  Too often, small business owners do not receive the same level of respect at larger institutions, and our bank is here for that reason. 

Why did West Hartford become the newest branch location?  What does this branch have to offer businesses in town?

West Hartford Center is a prime location for our bank to immerse itself in the community and meet the small business owners that we cater to.  CT River Community bank values its commitment to service and this location enables us to get to know our core customers.  When you walk into our bank, expect quick responses to your financial needs.  Whether it be a simple deposit or plan to expand a business, we work with you on an individual basis to accomplish your goals. 

Explain your approach to “community banking”.

We are a “boutique” bank that offers all of the basic banking services but with exceptional focus on customer service.  We offer expert advice to business owners because that it was this bank was founded on.  Banking is more about relationships then ever before.  CT River Community bank customers trust us because they know we have their best interest in mind when helping them reach their financial objectives.

Give some “bankers” advice for someone running a small business today.  What should they all know about their finances?

My best advice for business owners is to network with each other.  The more experiences you share with others and the more you are able to see different perspectives of business, the more successful you will ultimately become.  Do not be afraid to ask questions and stay involved in the community that surrounds you.  Real-world experience is the best learning tool when planning for the future.

CT River Community Bank has been a tremendous supporter of the Chamber since celebrating your grand opening in 2008.  You present our Women in Business series and have evolved into a Chamber “partner”.  Explain the benefits.

The Chamber is the heartbeat of the West Hartford community.  It is an oasis setting where people are able to exchange ideas and network.  We are happy to partner with the Chamber because it is a catalyst for small businesses and our customers.  We value our relationship with the Chamber and encourage all businesses to get involved.
