COMMITTEES

The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce provides a web of opportunity to its members and the community.  It oversees six primary committees on a regular basis and others on an ad hoc basis.  Committee members are an integral part of the success of our programs.

Ambassadors

The mission of the Ambassador Committee is to create positive awareness of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce within the West Hartford business community.  Ambassadors act as liaisons between members and the Chamber, continually enhancing existing networking functions to attract and retain members.  For more information about this committee, contact Chairperson, Lisa Polce

Marketing

The Marketing committee supports our events, communications, and the creation of our annual Membership Directory & Community guide.  For more information about this committee, contact Chairperson, Julianne Roth

Golf

The Committee is built specifically for our Annual Golf Tournament held each September.  If you enjoy event planning and have experience with golf tournaments (or simply like playing in them) this is the committee for you.  The committee meets from March – September and celebrates at the 19th Hole dinner on the day of the tournament.

Economic Development

This committee plays a vital link between locally and nationally-owned businesses.    Its members are apprised of changes to codes, policy and statutes – whatever will affect the business climate of West Hartford.  The committee solicits input from Chamber members and presents pertinent information and issues to the Board for its consideration and possible action.

Youth-to-Business

The Chamber's Youth-to-Business Committee exists to promote relationships among and between the educational sector, the business and nonprofit community, and all who live and work in West Hartford.   Committee members represent the public, faith-based, and independent school sectors in West Hartford, as well as school-friendly businesses and community leaders. Through this committee, the Chamber supports job shadowing, mentoring, career days, math enrichment, and other programs that enhance the future workforce potential of students. For more information, contact Chairperson, Chip Janiszewski

Finance

This committee provides financial oversight of all Chamber revenues and expenses.  It ensures compliance with audit and retention requirements.  It also approves all expenditures and provides stewardship of membership dues.
